Jean-Paul Sartre Quotes

“Words are loaded pistols.”

The Jean-Paul Sartre's quote says that words are like loaded guns. They can even kill someone.

The use of words in situations is crucial. We often underestimate the power of words, but they can be stronger than any physical violence.

We need to use words rightly and concisely, say the bare minimum and not dwell too long. We can unintentionally hurt or change a situation if we dwell too long.

We must also be able to achieve our goals through dialogue, through the consensual use of words.

“If you are lonely when you're alone, you are in bad company.”

“Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.”

“Life begins on the other side of despair.”

“Every existing thing is born without reason, prolongs itself out of weakness, and dies by chance.”

“When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die.”

“Life has no meaning the moment you lose the illusion of being eternal.”

“There is only one day left, always starting over: it is given to us at dawn and taken away from us at dusk.”

“When rich people fight wars with one another, poor people are the ones to die.”

“Man is fully responsible for his nature and his choices.”

“There are two types of poor people, those who are poor together and those who are poor alone. The first are the true poor, the others are rich people out of luck.”

“Existence precedes and rules essence.”
